Harty Jewell Challenges Friends and Colleagues on #GivingTuesday to Support Local Foodbank
Today is Giving Tuesday and at Harty Jewell, PLLC, we are challenging our friends and colleagues to give what they can to causes that matter and that make a difference in our community. Will Harty and Erin Jewell are long-time supporters of the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank, and Harty Jewell, PLLC is a proud supporter of the Foodbank. In its over thirty-six years of operation, the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank has provided over 236 million meals, and helps over 250,000 families annually.

Will Harty and Erin Jewell recently contributed to the 26th Mayflower Marathon Holiday Food Drive, which is an annual event presented by the Foodbank and two local radio stations, 106.9 The Fox and FM99, to help put meals on the tables of families experiencing food insecurity in our community. The Mayflower Marathon is a 57 ½ hour food drive that makes contributing easy – donors can just drive through the donation locations at the participating Kroger grocery stores and can donate canned goods and nonperishables without even getting out of their vehicle.
While canned goods and nonperishables are always welcome, it’s even easier to make a contribution to the Virginia Peninsula Food bank online at this link: Virginia Peninsula Foodbank Donation.
Since 1986, the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank has provided food assistance to children, seniors, families and veterans in our community, including those in Newport News, Hampton, Williamsburg, James City County, Gloucester, Matthews, York, Poquoson and Surry. For every dollar donated, the Foodbank can provide three (3) meals, and your contributions help the Foodbank provide nutritious, healthy meals to those in need in our community.
We urge our friends and colleagues to make a contribution to the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank – and join Harty Jewell in the fight against hunger.
